Question 1

Why was Stack Slip built?

Accepted Answer

The founder shipped a high-value custom order to a long-time client. The client said they never received it. The software in use at the time could generate a packing slip — but only after completing all the data entry at the office first. The shop had poor connectivity. The truck was waiting. The shipment went out on the purchase order with the plan to sort the paperwork later. There was no later. The dispute started immediately and there was nothing to show. That shipment is what built Stack Slip. It happens every day to small manufacturers, fabricators, and distributors who ship via third-party carriers and have no way to document what actually left the dock — from the dock, when it matters, before the truck moves.

Question 2

Does Stack Slip replace my existing systems?

Accepted Answer

No — it complements them. If you use QuickBooks, an ERP, or a 3PL platform for invoicing and order management, you keep using those. Stack Slip adds the one layer those systems have never provided: photo proof of what physically left the dock, created at the dock, before the truck moves. Most existing tools require you to complete data entry at the office before they'll produce a slip. When the truck arrives early or connectivity is poor, slips get skipped entirely. Stack Slip works from any smartphone in 60 seconds, at the dock, with no office trip required.

Question 3

Who is Stack Slip for?

Accepted Answer

Stack Slip is built for the person standing at a loading dock handing a shipment to a third-party carrier — not for fleet operators or delivery drivers. The primary users are small manufacturers shipping B2B on purchase orders via LTL carriers, custom fabricators doing high-value single-item shipments where one dispute can erase the margin on a job, wholesale distributors dealing with recurring quantity disputes, regulated goods shippers (cannabis, food, beverage) who need defensible chain-of-custody records, and warehouse teams who need a shared auditable record of what left the dock. If you're looking for route optimization, driver dispatch, or fleet tracking, that's a different category of tool — Track-POD, Onfleet, or Routific. Stack Slip protects the shipper, not the carrier.

Question 4

Is Stack Slip Proof of Delivery (POD)?

Accepted Answer

Not exactly — and that's intentional. Traditional Proof of Delivery depends on the receiver: a driver scan or a signature you don't control. Stack Slip gives you Proof of Shipment instead — you, the shipper, photograph the load at your dock before it leaves. Those dated photos are permanently attached to the slip and are your evidence regardless of what anyone else does. Optionally, you can share a link with the recipient and they can confirm receipt and add their own photos — no app required. Their participation strengthens the record, but your proof is already established the moment the truck pulls away.

Question 5

How does this prevent shipping disputes?

Accepted Answer

The photos you take while loading are your first and most important line of defence — dated, timestamped, and permanently attached to the slip before the truck ever moves. No driver needs to scan anything. No receiver needs to confirm anything. That evidence is yours. If a client claims items were missing or not delivered, you have undeniable photo proof of exactly what was on the pallet when it left your dock. The shared link gives the receiver the option to add their own confirmation photos, which strengthens the record further — but your protection is already in place whether they use it or not.

Question 6

How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

Click the “Login” button on the home page and sign in with Google or email and password. Your account is created automatically on first sign-in.

Question 7

What languages does the app support?

Accepted Answer

Stack Slip supports virtually any language! The interface and your packing slips are automatically translated to your preferred language. Our Smart Translation ensures product codes and model numbers stay accurate while translating descriptions.

Question 8

Is Stack Slip packing slip software?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Stack Slip is packing slip software for origin shippers. You create an itemized packing slip on your phone, attach timestamped dock photos, and share a link. That record is proof of shipment if a customer later claims a shortage or missing items. It is not a package-tracking app and not a fleet proof-of-delivery tool.

Question 9

How do I create my first packing slip?

Accepted Answer

After logging in, go to “Create Slip”. Add at least one product first, then select items, enter shipping info, optionally add a photo, and review before sending.

Question 10

Do I need to download an app?

Accepted Answer

No download required! Stack Slip works in the browser, and you can install it as a mobile PWA for quicker access.

Question 11

How do I add products?

Accepted Answer

Open the Products page and click “Add Product”. Enter details like name, price, SKU, weight, and description. Everything stays synced across devices.

Question 12

How do I edit or delete a product?

Accepted Answer

Use the pencil icon to edit or the trash icon to delete. Changes are saved instantly.

Question 13

Can I import/export products?

Accepted Answer

Yes—use the Import CSV and Export CSV buttons on the Products page for bulk updates or backups.

Question 14

How do I add a client?

Accepted Answer

Head to Clients, click “Add Client”, and fill in their info. It’ll be ready next time you create a slip.

Question 15

Can I import my client list?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Import CSV lets you bring in existing contacts, and Export CSV gives you a backup.

Question 16

Is my client data private?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Your products and clients stay private to your account only.

Question 17

What info do I need?

Accepted Answer

Your product list, customer shipping details, and optionally a photo of the packaged items.

Question 18

Can I add photos of the shipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. During slip creation you can take photos or choose from your gallery to document the load — snap pictures as you pack and attach them when you're done loading. Multiple photos are supported so you can capture each box, the full pallet, or anything you want on record before the truck leaves.

Question 19

How do I adjust quantities?

Accepted Answer

Use the + and – controls while selecting products.

Question 20

How do I print a packing slip?

Accepted Answer

Open the slip from History and click the print icon for a printer-friendly view.

Question 21

Can I send slips via email or text?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open the slip from History, then tap Share from the slip detail view to open your device’s share sheet (email, text, etc.).

Question 22

How do I know when a shipment is delivered?

Accepted Answer

Check your History list. A green 'Delivered' badge appears next to any slip that has been confirmed by the recipient.

Question 23

What if the shipment passes through multiple hands — a driver, then a warehouse, then the final receiver?

Accepted Answer

When the driver opens the shared link, they're prompted to confirm pickup — no account required. They enter their name, optionally add photos, and tap confirm. Any mid-route handler can do the same. The final recipient confirms delivery. Every step is timestamped and permanently attached to the slip's audit trail, so you have a complete chain of custody from your dock to final delivery.

Question 24

What if the driver or receiver never opens the link?

Accepted Answer

Your proof isn't affected — at all. Stack Slip's value does not depend on anyone else's participation. The photos you took while loading — timestamped, dated, permanently attached to the slip — are your record of exactly what left your dock. That evidence exists entirely within your control from the moment you create the slip. The carrier's name is recorded by you, not the driver. The receiver's confirmation is optional. They can add to your record. They cannot take away from it. This is the fundamental difference between Stack Slip and fleet-focused tools: you don't need the other party to be on any platform. You're protected before the truck moves.

Question 25

Can I revoke a shared link?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can revoke access to any shared slip at any time from the slip details page. You can also set links to automatically expire after 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or never.

Question 26

Where can I view past slips?

Accepted Answer

All slips live on the History page. Select any slip to review details.

Question 27

How do I invite team members?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings > Team and click 'Add Member'. Enter their email address, and they'll be added to your workspace instantly.

Question 28

What can team members do?

Accepted Answer

Team members have full access to create slips, manage products, and view history. They share the same product and client database as you.

Question 29

Is there a limit to team size?
